August

Weekenders 2 were back in the City Centre for our August lunch at The Leandra in Frankfurt Gate. We do appreciate being able to catch a bus to almost outside a restaurant!

The 2 or 3 course set menu offers extend to Saturday, which is always a bonus for us. It also offered a great variety of tempting choices.  Highly recommended!

July

This month, Weekenders 2 visited the idyllic village of Meavy for lunch at the historic Royal Oak pub. There is a good, standard menu, which is further supplemented by a weekly Specials Board; and we all very much enjoyed our individual choices. I would definitely recommend the Lemon Posset from the dessert menu!

June

Members of Weekenders 2 greatly enjoyed lunch at The Treasury in Catherine Street this month. It was the first time that any of us had been there for a full meal, and we were very pleased with our choices. A lovely venue, with pleasant and helpful young staff. We now think that we'll have to go back for their cream teas - they looked delicious!

April

Weekenders 2 visited Pier One on the Hoe on a lovely sunny day, giving us beautiful views across the Sound and West Hoe. We particularly enjoyed seeing the paragliders above Bovisand.

The staff were young, very friendly and helpful; and there was a good choice of food from the new Summer menu.

March

Weekenders 2 enjoyed their lunch visit to The Brooke Inn in Plympton this Saturday. It has been taken over fairly recently by a young couple, and is now much brighter and more cheerful than I'd remembered from past years. The staff were very welcoming,  and the meals were very reasonably priced (£12.95 for a Sirloin steak!) and portions were generous. Well worth a visit!

February

The Elfordleigh was our venue for Weekenders 2's February lunch. The hotel is looking very smart, but was also comfortable. It was warm and welcoming on a cold, wet day, and the staff were lovely. We all greatly enjoyed our visit - good service and good food!

January

Weekenders 2 visited The Wet Wok for January's lunch. As always,  the restaurant lived up to its excellent reputation for great meals and good service. We had a lovely window table,  with superb views across the Sound; and enjoyed watching the many dinghies and kayaks making the most of the sunshine.
