September
The Play Reading group resumed in September after a summer break. The 5 members present started to read 'A Convenient Murder' by David Summers published in 2015 so probably the newest play we have read.
The main characters are members of a dysfunctional family and the Police investigating the death of the man of the house. As we read the first act most of the family appear to have a motive, who had the opportunity? We will look forward to our next meeting when we will find out 'whodunit'. A date and venue to be decided.
Autumn Restart
This group has been in recess for the summer, but is now restarting. The date of the next meeting is Friday 24th September at Jean's house. If you are interested in joining this group, please contact the Groups Coordinator via the "Contact Us" page.
June
There won't be a meeting in June as numbers are reduced to poor health.
This group is keen to have more new members.
January
Our first meeting of this new group was held at Marjorie's on Thursday 29th January at 2pm.
Sadly only 5 members could make this one but we hope for more in the future.
The play chosen was "Fish Out of Water" by Derek Benfield.
This proved to be a delightful comedy set on the Italian Riviera in the 1960s.
Wanting to escape the cold and dark winters, Britons were swept up with the idea of hot and sunny holidays via that newly discovered phenomena -the "Package Holidays!" These promised warm sandy beaches, comfortable hotels, delicious local food etc etc......... To say we enjoyed our first reading is an understatement, all present read all the parts
