Some of our groups allow visitors to have one taster session. If you wish to know more, contact our Groups Coordinator using the “groups” link on the contact us page. Please do not attend a group meeting without prior permission from the group leader. Group leaders are not required to justify their decision.

August
This month we braved the high temperatures to visit Stone Lane Gardens, tucked away down the lanes of Chagford, Dartmoor.
We enjoyed walking around the venue which displayed their annual Summer Sculpture Exhibition, thankfully most of the exhibits were in shady woody areas. Owing to the long standing drought the garden plants had suffered, however some photographs show a certain amount of greenery. On the return we stopped at the Warren House Inn for a well earned beverage and lunch.
Our next meeting will be on 14th September to Dartington Gardens.
July
On Tuesday 14th July, we wandered around Mothercombe House Gardens at Mothercombe , accessed after walking through the hamlet of thatched cottages.
It was a beautiful day to walk around the large garden leading to Mothercombe beach,
we enjoyed a coffee with a piece of cake in the stables/terrace. The kitchen garden was home to many varieties of lavender. The garden immediately in front of the house seemed to be full of ornamental thistles together with sustainable plants for hot and dry conditions. The remainder of the garden, which sloped towards the beach, incorporated an orchard, and a pond with some interesting pieces of artwork. Beyond were fields of sheep and cattle.
Our day was completed with further refreshments at Ben's Farm Shop and Otter Nurseries.
June
This month we visited Pinetum Gardens in St Austell. It's a beautiful garden consisting of 10 different areas including a Japanese garden, Winter garden, Cottage garden, Arboretum and Pinetum. The Pinetum, in particular, is a very tranquil relaxing area. There is a fusion of East and West with many oriental features around the gardens. We were lucky with the weather managing to avoid the showers and, of course, enjoyed coffee and delicious home-made cake.
April
Today we visited Strawberry Fields, Lifton and it was Tulip Fest! What a delight! We were greeted with a strong scent of hyacinths and a riot of colour. There were sixty varieties of tulips on display, some new some more traditional and planted in such a way they complimented each other. There were many photo opportunities provided including a viewing tower. Look out Amsterdam! We enjoyed a good lunch as usual. Our next venue will be in Cornwood viewing Delamore arts and gardens on 13th May.

March
This month we were very fortunate with the weather and met at Babbacombe Model Village, Torquay. Although the venue was not a garden as such, there were plenty of plants and trees which were in the bonsai style to suit the background of the scene. As it was early in the season we noticed plenty of gardeners, in fact there were eight looking after the lawns and plants.
Everyone enjoyed the day, the scenes were quite humourous and the crazy golf and mythical Enchanted Forest completed the fun atmosphere.
February
Our visit to see the Festival of Snowdrops at the Garden House, Buckland Monochorum was put on hold owing to the weather forecast. However, Plan B was put into operation and we met at Long Ash garden centre, Yelverton.
We enjoyed a coffee and a wander around the garden centre. Some of us drove to the Yelverton Golf Club for lunch.

On Thursday 15th January we met at the Otter Nurseries near Brixton to discuss future dates and venues for 2026.
