For our first outing the group visited The Box to see the Beryl Cook exhibition. This collection of her works is proving very popular and it is necessary to book a time slot. Once inside you can stay for as long as you like.

Beryl Cook (1926-2008) is famous for her paintings of chubby people having fun, in pubs, and shopping. Beryl wasn't from Plymouth, but lived much of her adult life there. Her paintings reflect a side of Plymouth that most locals would recognise. I selected 6 paints which I think show that.

We had our first meeting of the group where we discussed possible outings for the next few months. We managed to grab the last few tickets for a tour at The Box in March. We haven't decided on exact dates for the following months yet.
