Contact Us

Some of our groups allow visitors to have one taster session. If you wish to know more, contact our Groups Coordinator using the “groups” link on the contact us page. Please do not attend a group meeting without prior permission from the group leader. Group leaders are not required to justify their decision.

The ukulele group is one of our most popular groups. They meet every Friday morning in the Woolwell Centre practicing music of their own choosing. They give occasional concerts to other members at Christmas and Moor's Edge birthday party. The room that the group use is quite small, so they have had to restrict the number of members who can join and are currently unable to accept any new members.

The group is for experienced ukulele players only, there isn't the time or space to teach complete beginners.

Friday 17th. April 2026

We are members of the U3A Moors Edge, Woolwell Centre, Ukulele Group who meet every Friday between 1000 hrs and 1100 hrs at the Centre to play our ukuleles and sing along to the various tunes.

We have been together for about two years and most of us started playing from scratch and have put together a list of songs that we enjoy.

Many of us have good reason to use Derriford Hospital and would like to say a huge heartfelt thank you to all the staff there together with those in the Ambulance service and Paramedics. To that end and as a way of saying thank you we are dedicating a Friday session to all those who take such good care of us.

We also thank the staff at the Woolwell Centre for the help they provide not only to us but to the wider Community and the U3A Moors Edge Group for giving us the opportunity of getting together as a Ukulele Group.

Signing off as ‘All the Ukulele gang'.
