September
After three cancelled walks to Challacombe Farm Dartmoor we managed it on Wednesday 9th Sept.We were a bit sceptical on the way to the start as it started to rain but when we arrived at the start Warren House it had stopped. Sunshine. It was a downhill track to the valley below and then flat all the way but a bit wet in places still. Our leader had brought along some info about the two ruined mines along the route. Which were Golden Dagger and Vitifer and pictures of how they looked when they were working. We had lunch at the pond at Challacombe Farm which is lived in but still has ruins of the old farm. We noticed a pixie door and post box in the ruins I wonder if they have a post code !!! We traced our way back passing a herd of well behaved cows, having walked just 4 miles and a bit.

July
On Wednesday 22nd July six walkers from the medium walks group took a saunter to the Dewerstone. We started at Cadover Bridge at 11 am and had lunch on the Dewerstone. The plan was to walk around Wigford Down and pass the fishing lakes, but the decision was made to take a shorter route back to the car park. When we arrived back a couple of us indulged ourselves with a rum and raisin ice cream. AWESOME!!

April
The newly renamed Medium Walks group travelled to Dartington courtesy of the 1A and 80 buses. We had a lovely walk through beautiful Spring flowers and foliage, and it was really good to see how previously flooded areas were now green and flourishing. We followed the public footpath to Totnes, arriving in good time for a picnic lunch in the park. We had bright sunshine, a little windy at times, but not as windy as Plymouth experienced, fortunately!
